2019 Beef Days Bags Tournament

Tournament starts at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 20.

Bean Bag tournament rules:

  • 2 person teams – entry fee is $40 per team.
  • One team member on each end.
  • One team member on each side of the board.
  • Contestant must throw from behind the foul line.
  • Players on the same end (opposite teams) alternate turns throwing.
  • First team to reach 21 wins: 3 points for bag through the hole, 1 point for bag landing on board.
  • Points cancel each other: if Team A scores 5 points and Team B scores 3 then Team A officially scores 2 points.
  • Double Elimination tournament.  One game per round, winner of each game moves on.
  • Bags that hit the ground before landing on the board are considered a foul throw and must be removed before the next throw. Bags count if they are hanging over the edge of the board. If they are hanging over the front but touching the ground, a wrestler will lift the board up to see if the bag stays on or falls off before scoring is calculated.
  • The last team to score throws first.
  • If the board moves as a result of a throw it will be re-positioned after the last throw of the turn and before the next bags are thrown.

Sam’s Amusements is back this year at Solon Beef Days 2019 with some amazing rides for the whole family. Stop by Solon Beef Days on July 19-20 to catch some fun rides and other carnival games!

The Carnival at Midway will kick off on Friday at 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. It will re-open on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Back by popular demand, unlimited wristband rides for $20.00 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. both Friday AND Saturday! (Note: you must purchase new wristbands each night)

Join us for our annual Solon Beef Days 1-Mile/5K Fun Run/Walk 2019. Our route circulates through our amazing Solon Community.

There is a 1-mile and 5K component to the event and it’s your choice to run/walk.

Proceeds from this event go directly back into the Solon Community.

As Solon Beef Days President, It is with great pleasure to announce the Solon Beef Days Committee, Senior Scholarships.

Solon Beef Days Committee this year will Award 3 $500 dollar scholarships and one $1,000 scholarship named after Larry Meyers to graduating seniors who is pursuing a post secondary education.

The criteria in which they are selected are based upon three categories:

  1. Academics, need and extracurricular activity while in High School
  2. An individual one page Essay they’ve submitted about their community involvement and
  3. Their Community Service throughout the years

The Solon Beef Days Committee has donated approximately $365,000 over the past 41 years to local organizations, activities and projects.  “Our charter is to touch as many worthy projects and activities within the community and surrounding area,” said Gary Bentrim, President of Solon Beef Days Committee.  “We look at the number of people we are going to impact along with the betterment of the community”.  “We view our committee as the organizer and catalyst to put on the annual celebration where most of the  non-profit organizations within the community that take part in Solon Beef Days have their largest fund raiser.”  “Many, without Beef Days would not have the funding to do all of the great things they are doing.”  “It’s the one event each year that the whole community can be proud of that funds many of the activities that go on throughout the year.”

This year Solon Beef Days will be celebrating their 42nd Anniversary to be held on Friday/Saturday, July 19th & 20th

Seeking T-shirt Artwork for the 2013 Solon Beef Days Celebration

The Solon Beef Days Committee is soliciting t-shirt designs to mark the 2013 Solon Beef Days Celebration to be held on July 19th & 20th.

Original artwork is currently being accepted for the t-shirt design.  Each artist may submit more than one design.  To qualify, designs need to meet the following guidelines:  artwork must be produced using a conventional media or desktop publishing software; artwork must be 5” x 7” or larger; artwork must include the Beef Days Celebration. T-shirt designs may also include the Beef Days bandstand/tree logo, the celebration dates (7/19 & 7/20) and finally, the artwork must be original and exclusive.

Artwork will become the property of the Solon Beef Days Committee.  An honorarium of $100 for 1st place, $50 to 2nd place, and Beef Days dinner tickets for 3rd place will be awarded to the artists whose designs are selected by the Beef Days Committee to promote the 2013 celebration.  The selected artwork will be featured on all promotional material for the Beef Days Celebration, including, but not limited to, programs, posters, billboards, and t-shirts.

Please be sure to include your name and contact information on all entries.

The Solon Beef Days Committee will accept artwork up until May 10, 2013.
